Ladies 1s take home the cup in nail biting victory!

Investec Women’s T3 Championship Finals took place on a day when we had all 4 seasons within the space of a 70 minute game at Lee Valley on Saturday 4th may between Oxted Ladies 1s and Reading Rockets. It was the perfect start for Reading as they finished off a well-executed field goal early on in the first half and then doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time following a 20 minute spell of pressure from Oxted. However, the game wasn’t won yet as Oxted remarkably fought back to pull the game level, Hannah White and Laura Johnstone getting on the scoresheet to totally shift the game. Though Reading re-took the lead just over five minutes later Oxted continued to plug away and quickly replied with Olivia Francis’ goal taking the game to a shootout.  Oxted completed the comeback in dramatic fashion, winning the shootout 2-1 with Hannah scoring both to secure victory in sudden-death after the game finished 3-3 in regular time and 16 year old Sehran in goal showing amazing calm and composure in goal to keep the reading girls out.
